Bango Wind Farm Update – May 2020

Bango Wind Farm has recently completed pouring concrete at the first wind turbine foundation.

An important milestone for the project, the pour is the culmination of a team effort over the last few months to excavate the foundation, place and fix over 67 tonnes of steel reinforcement and hold down bolts and finally pour approximately 550 cubic meters (around 85 loads for a concrete truck) using two concrete pumps.

The concrete must be placed in a continuous pour to ensure there are no joints, meaning a big effort from the team to complete the work in one day.

The project is now targeting two to three foundation concrete pours each week.
