Wind energy

Electrical energy is essential to billions of people around the world. We rely on it for light, to power our appliances, and to heat our water and homes.  The majority of the world's power comes from burning fossil fuels such as coal, gas, oil and nuclear. There are fears that a fossil fuel shortage will have a global impact on both the economy and our lifestyles; and an international consensus that fossil fuels contribute to the phenomenon we term "climate change".

Based on this reasoning the generation of electricity from clean energy sources is not just important - but essential.  The Federal Government's enhanced Renewable Energy Target (RET) aims to deliver 20% of our total energy consumption from renewable energy sources by 2020.  Windpower must make a major contribution to our energy needs if this target is to be achieved.
